CBSE board exam tools for parents
CBSE board-exam rules applied to your own case. Each tool names the CBSE circular it follows, with its number, date and the day we last checked it.
This section takes CBSE's rules for the 2026-27 board exams and applies them to your child's case. The first tool, the LOC data check, helps you compare the name, date of birth and subject codes your child's school sends to CBSE with your own records. The school can correct that data only from 2 to 4 November 2026. CBSE's circular says it allows no corrections after that. The 75% attendance calculator shows how many more school days your child can miss before CBSE's 1 January count, and what the school must send by 7 January if they fall short. The Class 10 second-exam checker takes the first-exam result subject by subject and shows whether your child can sit the second exam in May, and in which category. If a name or date of birth is wrong after the result, the correction rule finder shows which bye-law applies, the last date under the five-year limit and the records the school must send. Lost a marksheet or need the migration certificate? The duplicate documents guide shows whether DigiLocker has it free or which DADS fee band applies to a printed copy. For the three-language rule, the third language finder shows which third language (R3) works with the two languages your child studies now, for Classes 6 to 10, from CBSE circular 49 of 10 July 2026. With marks in hand, the pass or compartment checker tests each subject against the 33% rules and shows whether the result is a pass, a compartment or a full repeat. For a Class 12 compartment or a one-subject improvement, the supplementary exam page shows the category, who files the name, whether your child sits theory, practical or both, and the 2026 fee per subject. If a mark looks wrong, the re-evaluation page explains the scanned copy, lets you re-add your answer book question by question and shows what verification or re-evaluation costs for your exam. When something has to go to CBSE directly, the regional office finder shows which office covers the school's district and the section email for your question. For Class 9 from 2026-27, the Advanced Maths and Science chooser explains the optional 25-mark Advanced papers and helps you decide subject by subject. If your child has a disability certificate, the CwSN facilities finder shows which board exam facilities CBSE allows for that category, and why the school has to apply before the LOC closes. Choosing a school? The school affiliation check shows how to read a school's record on SARAS and ticks off the 36 items CBSE makes every school publish on its website. Moving schools mid-way? The school change checker shows whether the class your child is joining allows it, which approval the school needs and how the TC is signed. In Delhi, the admission age calculator takes a date of birth and shows whether it fits Nursery, Lower KG, Upper KG or Class 1 for 2027-28 or 2028-29, under DoE circular 976.
From 2026-27, CBSE Class 9 students can add Advanced Maths, Advanced Science or both. See the rules for your child's batch and check whether it fits.

Questions people ask
When is the CBSE LOC correction window for the 2027 board exams?
From 2 to 4 November 2026. After the LOC closes, the school generates a data verification slip for each student, and the school can fix errors in names, date of birth or subjects only in that window. The circular says CBSE will allow no corrections after it.[1]
What is the last date for schools to submit the CBSE LOC 2026-27?
21 October 2026 with the normal fee. From 22 to 30 October 2026 schools can still submit with a late fee of Rs 2,000 per candidate on top of the normal fee.[1]
Can parents submit or correct LOC data themselves?
No. Only the school can submit or correct the LOC, and it files it online with its affiliation number. The circular asks schools to brief students and parents on the data and to get the mother's, father's and candidate's signatures on the final list, so ask the school when you will see it.[1]
Can my child change subjects after the LOC is submitted?
No. CBSE will not accept requests to change subjects after the LOC is submitted. The only exception is the 2 to 4 November 2026 window, for subjects found wrong on the data verification slip.[1]
How do you get a name or date of birth corrected after the result?
Through the school. CBSE's circular of 23 September 2026 says the school must send the request with certified records from every school the student attended, and that CBSE will reject incomplete requests. CBSE asks students not to write to the board directly, send legal notices or go to court, because those routes slow the decision down.[2]
