CWC Recruitment 2026

Which Central Warehousing Corporation 2026 post can I apply for with my degree and age, and what do the online test, interview and bond involve?

Quick answer

The Central Warehousing Corporation is a Navratna public sector company under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and in 2026 it is hiring for 327 posts: 171 Assistant Managers across six streams and 156 Junior Executives across two. Applications run from 17 October to 15 November 2026. You need to be 18 to 28 on 15 November 2026 (born 16 November 1998 to 15 November 2008), with the usual category relaxations. Every post starts with a 3-hour online test of 230 marks, and a wrong answer costs a quarter mark. Assistant Managers then go to Delhi for a document check and a 30-mark interview, and the final list weighs the test and the interview 85:15. Junior Executives are picked on test marks after a document check. Everyone joins on probation and signs a bond to serve at least two years.

What CWC does

CWC runs scientific storage for farm inputs, farm produce and other notified goods, and logistics sites for import and export cargo: container freight stations, inland container depots, land customs stations and air cargo complexes. The posts follow that work: the Technical posts deal with grain storage, pests and fumigation; the Engineering posts with warehouse buildings and their power and machinery; the General posts with running the business.[1]

Who it suits, and who may struggle

  • It suits a graduate whose degree matches one of the six specialist posts, because the subject section rewards what you studied and the pool of eligible candidates is smaller.
  • A fresh graduate in any subject who wants a public sector job and can move also fits: JE General is open to every graduate and has no interview.
  • It is a hard fit if you need to stay in your home town. CWC is an all-India cadre, posting can be anywhere in India or abroad, and new joiners first spend a set period at field units.
  • Think twice if you may leave within two years: the bond is Rs 1 lakh for Assistant Managers and Rs 50,000 for Junior Executives.

Pass marks and cut-offs

Two pass marks are printed in advance. In the Professional or Subject Knowledge section (AM Technical, Finance, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and JE Technical) you need 40% if unreserved and 35% if OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwBD or ex-serviceman. The descriptive test has the same 40% / 35% line for every post.

Every other section has a cut-off too, and so does the total. CWC fixes those after the exam, depending on the vacancies, and it can raise or lower the minimums to change how many people it calls. Scores from different sessions are equated and normalised with the equi-percentile method, and CWC won't show you your scores until the document check or interview stage is over.[1]

Syllabus outline

CWC prints an indicative topic list for every post with a knowledge section. AM Technical covers agricultural process engineering and storage (drying, grading, godowns, silos, controlled and modified atmosphere storage, packaging), food engineering and preservation, food chemistry, and food microbiology with pest control and fumigation. AM Finance covers financial accounting (Indian Accounting Standards, final accounts, cost accounting), taxation (Income Tax Act, 2025 and GST) and auditing.

The Civil list runs from structural and geotechnical engineering to surveying, transportation and concrete technology. Electrical covers circuits, machines, power systems, control systems and measurements. Mechanical covers machine design, thermal engineering and fluid mechanics, and manufacturing and industrial engineering. JE Technical draws on basic agriculture, botany, zoology (including insects and rodents in storage) and chemistry.[1]

After the test

Assistant Managers: CWC calls up to 5 candidates per post for a document check and an interview in Delhi. The interview is out of 30, and you have to clear 50% (unreserved, EWS), 45% (OBC) or 40% (SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen). The final list adds the online test and the interview in the ratio 85:15.

Junior Executives: CWC calls up to 3 candidates per post for a document check at its corporate office in Delhi. There is no interview, and selection goes on online test marks.

On equal scores the older candidate ranks higher. CWC may keep a wait list of up to 100% of the vacancies in each category, used only if a post stays empty. New recruits start on probation in the post's pay scale.[1]

Tips and tricks

  • Pick the post before you prepare. Only AM General and JE General have no subject section; in the other six the subject section carries 60 or 65 marks and a fixed pass mark, so your degree subject matters more than aptitude.[1]
  • Practise the descriptive test. It is only 30 marks, but below 40% (35% for reserved categories) you are out, whatever your objective score.[1]
  • A wrong answer costs a quarter of the question's marks. Pure guesses barely pay, but once you can rule out one option the guess is worth taking.[1]
  • Check Table-A for your category on the post you want. SC candidates get no seat in AM Finance or AM Mechanical, and ST candidates none in AM Electrical or AM Mechanical, which means no age relaxation there.[1]
  • Look at the date on your OBC certificate now. It has to be issued on or after 1 April 2026, and your category can't be changed once you register.[1]
  • If your degree fits two posts, say B.Sc. Agriculture for JE Technical and JE General, apply for both only if you can sit both tests: CWC may schedule them on the same day.[1]

Questions people ask

What is the last date for the CWC recruitment 2026 form?

15 November 2026. Registration and fee payment both opened on 17 October 2026.[1]

What is the age limit for CWC Junior Executive 2026?

18 to 28 on 15 November 2026, so you must be born between 16 November 1998 and 15 November 2008. SC and ST candidates get 5 extra years, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 and PwBD 10, but only on a post that has a seat for their category.[1]

Is there negative marking in the CWC exam?

Yes. Each wrong answer in the objective sections costs a quarter of that question's marks. A question you leave blank costs nothing.[1]

Is there an interview for CWC Junior Executive?

No. Junior Executives (General and Technical) only have a document check after the online test and are selected on test marks. Assistant Managers have a 30-mark interview.[1]

Can final-year students apply for CWC 2026?

No. You must hold the final mark sheet or certificate by 15 November 2026, and the advertisement says students in their final year or final semester are not eligible.[1]

What is the CWC exam date for 2026?

CWC hasn't announced it. The advertisement says dates will be posted on cewacor.nic.in, with call letters about 21 days before the exam.[1]

Can I apply for more than one CWC post?

Yes, if you meet the qualification for each. Every post needs its own application and fee, and CWC may hold the tests for different posts together on the same day.[1]

Is there a bond for CWC Assistant Manager?

Yes. Assistant Managers sign a bond of Rs 1,00,000 to serve at least two years, and Junior Executives a bond of Rs 50,000.[1]
