Study in Ireland from India: deadlines, English and €10,000 funds
I want to study in Ireland from India for September 2027. How much money must I show for the study visa, what English score does the visa ask for, and when do Irish universities close applications?
Irish degrees start in September. For a long-stay study visa, Irish Immigration asks you to show immediate access to at least €10,000 for the first year, on top of fees, and €10,000 for each later year. The single-entry visa fee is €60. The visa sets its own English minimum, IELTS Academic 5.0 for most courses, but universities ask for more: Trinity College Dublin's standard is 6.5. Trinity accepts non-EU undergraduate applications until 30 June, and UCD opens taught postgraduate applications on 1 October.

You can apply up to 3 months before you travel. After you create the AVATS online application, the documents must reach the visa office within 30 days.[3]
NARIC Ireland, run by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), issues comparability statements that place a foreign qualification on the Irish framework. QQI says these are advice only: the university's admissions staff make the decision.[8]
Trinity's standard requirement is IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6.0 in each band, with higher scores for some courses. Meeting the visa minimum is not enough if your course asks for more.[6]
